What is the memory/media type and capacity of the geoDVR?
There is a removable SSD (solid state drive) on the recorder.
Standard capacity is 250 GB. We also offer an Optional - 500 GB drive and the geoDVR is expandable to even larger drives, though 250 GB and 500 GB are usually more than adequate for most video survey and mapping projects and public safety missions.
Is the memory slot for the drives internal?
The removable Solid State Drive is accessible from the front of the unit - just remove the thumb screws and you can then slide out the drive. From there, you can use a SATA3->USB3 adapter to access the drive/data on another PC.
Once you are finished retrieving the data, you can slide the drive back in (gently - it should lock into place, you should not have to force it) and screw the thumbscrews back in.
