NOTE: The installation process is similar for several of the different Remote GeoSystems desktop-based software versions and editions. This includes LineVision Desktop, Video GeoTagger and Video GeoEditor.
Download Software #
The download link for the software is within the email sent after completing the Trial Request form or in your purchase receipt email. Click the download link to download the software that you requested and/or purchased.
NOTE: Some web browsers may not recognize our software and may falsely flag it as dangerous. Select Accept, Allow, or Continue.
NOTE: If you are running Windows 10 or 11, you may encounter a security warning similar to the image below. If this is the case, select More Info > Run Anyway… or Run to continue the installation.
Read the License Agreement and click the I accept the agreement radio button. By clicking on the I accept the agreement button, you have accepted the terms of the License Agreement. Click the Next button.
You may add a desktop shortcut of LineVision onto your desktop by checking the “Create a Desktop shortcut” option. Select the Next button to continue.
Select the Install button to confirm and begin the installation.
Once the installation is complete, select Finish to exit the window and boot LineVision.
Install Required Components #
After the LineVision installation process completes, a “LineVision Post Requirement Installer” message box will appear. This installer prompts you to install the necessary codecs to play the video formats used with LineVision. This installer also prompts you to install the necessary Microsoft Office systems drivers that allow for creation functionality.
IMPORTANT: If this is your first time installing any of the LineVision software titles, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED you install both of these options as the software may not function correctly without doing so.
Install geoDVR Codecs #
Even if you do not plan to use a geoDVR, please make sure to Install the geoDVR Codecs as they are also applicable to videos from other devices. LineVision may not function correctly if you fail to do so.
Install Microsoft Office System Drivers #
It is a best practice to install the Microsoft Office System Drivers for supporting shapefiles and the automated report creation process available in LineVision Desktop – Ultimate and LineVision Google Earth – Professional Plus+ editions. LineVision may not function correctly if you fail to do so.
Once you have installed the codecs and/or drivers, click Close to exit the window.
