For LineVision Online accounts with a much smaller number of media and data items loaded, a user might be able to find what they are looking for by simply looking at the thumbnails in the Media Browser and/or looking at items in the Map Viewer. However, once the amount of data grows, most users will probably apply some kind of search criteria or filter to help find what they are looking for. The ability to sort and filter all of your media and data through a robust search tool is one of the standout capabilities of LineVision Online.
There are several ways to use the search functionality in LineVision Online using the search options in the upper right corner of the application.
The Search Bar is an intuitive tool that will allow you to find items in your media browser based on several different filters. The search bar can be found in the top right hand corner of your map.
Item Filtering
Using the search bar, you are able to sort through your uploaded media by different filters. You can filter by Name, Keywords, Descriptions, and geoProjects. This feature is useful if you have an extensive amount of items in your geoProjects or Media Browser and wish to find an individual item or collection of items with similar properties.
Advanced Filters
You can further refine your searches using the Advanced filters in the search bar. To expand your view, click “More” next to the magnifying glass at the search bar. This will bring down a menu that lets you filter items by date, map position, and by media types.
The Enable Map Search option under the search bar allows you to view items and their GPS tracks based on their geographical location. The Map Search sorts items based on their map location, and zooming in on an area on the map will automatically show items from that area and hide others.
