The optional Analysis & Reporting module extends LineVision Online’s interactive geospatial data management capabilities with user-friendly workflows for transforming field-collected georeferenced full-motion video and photo imagery into structured, shareable, map-based reports and data outputs.
The module includes two primary methods for completing forms in a report; map-based and video-based.
Map-based Reporting – By clicking locations defined in KML map files users can search, cue and review relevant georeferenced videos and photos. A pre-selected form will be initiated for each KML item so that users can input relevant video/photo data observed for that field object and/or location. This option is ideal for projects that require reports to be tied to specific, known objects in the field, such as utility structures, road signs, or buildings and other real estate assets.

With the map-based reporting method, LineVision Online users can search for videos and photos within the proximity to a KML point such as this transmission line structure.
Video-based Reporting – Users can interact directly with objects observed in the georeferenced video to initiate a pre-selected form for each object. Users can input relevant observation data for that object and/or location. This option is ideal for projects that require reports to be tied to mobile or undocumented objects or conditions in the field, such as wildlife, land erosion or road potholes.
IMPORTANT: The video-based option is only available for georeferenced videos that can display a dynamic “Camera Target Footprint” (aka CTF) location on the map, representing the GPS coordinates for the four corners of the video frame. If you video camera platform does not log this CTF location data during recording, you might be able to estimate it after the flight. For more details on using this capability, see the Estimate Camera Target Footprint on Map article.
With the video-based reporting method, LineVision Online users can click an object in the video player itself and complete forms for each relevant object such as this in this deer population survey.
With either method, the geospatially aggregated data entered to the forms ultimately becomes an online report with tabular data and an interactive map that can be shared with and/or modified by other LineVision Online users. Users can optionally export the completed reports in CSV or GeoJSON file formats.
Combining flexibility with centralized control, the Reporting module enables managers and teams of subject-matter specialists to document survey and inspection findings consistently across large projects while producing clear deliverables for review, follow-up, decision-making, and integration with third-party GIS and asset management systems.
