Overview #
The Media Browser panel has 4 primary components: the media thumbnails, Sort by dropdown, Image Size slider and Import Media button.
To play a video or display a photo, simply select the media item’s thumbnail in the Media Browser, and the media should appear in the Video Viewer or Photo Viewer, respectively. A video track (for geotagged videos) or single dot (for geotagged photos) representing the data collection location should also appear in the Map Viewer panel.
Menu Options #
The image above shows the options at the top of the Media Browser.
Dropdown Menu #
From the dropdown menu on the left you can select Default, Time, Name, Location, or Type to sort your media.
Media Size Slider #
The blue slider changes the size of the media icons.
Import Media Button #
The cloud icon with an arrow brings you to the following page where you can select media from your computer to upload to LineVision Online.
From the Upload page you can also add your media to a geoProject and add keywords. To learn more about Uploading via the Web Interface, click here.
Once media has been uploaded you will be able to see colored diamonds on the Map Viewer that correlate to the images, videos, annotations, or any other media type you uploaded.
Show All Team Media Button #
When this option is clicked it will appear green to show that you are currently seeing all media from your team.
NOTE: This option is only available to a team Admin.
Thumbnails #
Video Thumbnail
Video thumbnails are differentiated from photo thumbnails by the play button icon.
Clicking the video thumbnail will start the video playing in the Video Viewer and the Camera Platform Location Indicator moving on the corresponding GPS track in the Map Viewer. The track will now be represented by light blue dots. Clicking a light blue dot will move the video to the corresponding time and continue playing from that location.
Right clicking a video thumbnail will present a menu of options for working with video. These video thumbnail menu items are explained in more detail here.
Photo Thumbnail
Photo thumbnails are differentiated from video thumbnails by the camera icon.
Clicking the photo thumbnail will display the photo in the Photo Viewer and will show a red diamond representing that photo GPS point in the Map Viewer.
Right clicking a photo thumbnail will present a menu of options for working with photo. These photo thumbnail menu items are explained in more detail here.
Selecting Multiple Media #
If you hold down shift and select multiple videos or images at one time, you can make changes to many pieces of media. The following list of options will be available when you select multiple videos or images.
NOTE: There may be some functions that are not available if you select different media types at the same time.
Media Information Options #
Change the amount of information visible about the media using the buttons at the bottom of the Media Browser.
