Overview #
Media saved in a geoProject can be downloaded from LineVision Online and viewed in LineVision Desktop or Windows File Explorer.

Feature Prerequisites #
- A subscription to or purchase of both LineVision Desktop and LineVision Online. Without purchasing LineVision Desktop, you will only be able to view the downloaded media in Windows File Explorer.
Downloading a geoProject from LineVision Online #
In LineVision Online, click the “+” button to select the media you wish to download and add it to a new geoProject. Skip this step if the media is already in a geoProject.
Open the geoProject Browser and select the geoProject from the drop down menu.
Right-click on the geoProject name and hover over “Download geoProject”. Select “Create Download”.
A window will appear. Click “Start Download”. Do not close the window.
Once the download is ready, the window will say “Download Ready” and you may click the “Download” button to save the geoProject to your computer.
Viewing a Downloaded geoProject #
Once the geoProject is downloaded it can be viewed in LineVision Desktop or in Windows File Explorer.
View in LineVision Desktop #
All LineVision Desktop titles can open and view geoProjects. In LineVision Desktop, go to File > Open geoProject > Extract & Open geoProject (.rgs File).
You will be prompted to choose a location on your computer where you want to download and save the geoProject. After saving, the geoProject will open in LineVision Desktop.
To see where each media item is saved on your computer, right-click on the item in the Media Browser and select Open Media File Folder. Additional media items may be located in subfolders within the main folder on your computer.
View in File Explorer #
Alternatively, the photos and videos included in the downloaded geoProject can be viewed through File Explorer and opened in Windows Media Player.
Rename the downloaded geoProject (.rgs) file extension to .zip. It can then be unzipped and browsed using File Explorer.
Each media item will be located in a numbered folder in the Media folder located within the unzipped geoProject file.
IMPORTANT: Annotations, Waypoints, and GPS tracks will not be visible in the video. It will play as a traditional, non-geospatial video through this method of viewing.
