Load Multiple Synchronized Videos – LEGACY

Many editions of LineVision desktop-based applications and tools allow you to load up to 4 video files recorded at the same time that share a common GPS companion file.  This is often common with airborne gimbal cameras and recorders capable of recording separate color (EO) and infrared (IR) video files at the same time with GPS metadata.  Another common use case might be a ground vehicle or subsea ROV recording multiple cameras from various angles with a geoDVR.

NOTE:  In order for this feature to work correctly, all video files must be of the same length of time and share a properly formatted GPS companion file or include embedded GPS data such as videos following the MISB FMV/STANAG 4609 specifications.

Go to the File menu > Open Multiple Synchronized Videos…

Referencing the image below, a window will appear to select up to 4 video recorded at the same time that share a common GPS companion file.

Click the Browse button to use Windows Explorer to navigate and select the video files to load.

With default settings, the software will automatically try to detect if there is a valid GPS companion file with the same name as, and in the same folder as these video files.  If this is the case, the software will try to load the video into multiple Video Players and a single GPS companion file track on onto the Map Viewer.

If the GPS companion file contains supported GPS data and is properly synchronized with the video file, a red track will appear on the map and the video will play with a position indicator moving along the track.

 

Compatible Software #

All editions of Remote GeoSystems LineVision software can support the viewing of previously-loaded multiple synchronized videos saved as interactive geoProjects.  However in order to load and view new multiple synchronized videos, you will need a Professional edition or higher version of LineVision.

These editions of LineVision support the loading and viewing of multiple synchronized video files:

 

NOTE:  Video GeoTagger (FREE & PRO) and Video GeoEditor do NOT support the loading, nor viewing of multiple synchronized video files.
