Overview #
The Waypoint Browser lets you see waypoints for geotagged video and audio files. In most cases, waypoints will have been created in-mission while recording data using a geoDVR (video) or geoDSR (audio). Waypoints can also be created post-mission in LineVision Desktop using the Add Waypoint feature from the Video Track Right-click Menu.
Feature Prerequisites #
- Waypoints must be present in the data to use this feature. If waypoints are not present in the video/audio, this menu item will not appear.
You can access the Waypoint Browser by right-clicking on the video in the Media Browser and selecting Browse Waypoints from the menu.
Once Browse Waypoints is selected, a new tab appears to the right of the Map Browser tab (in the lower left corner of LineVision) with thumbnail images or a generic icon representing the different waypoint(s). Thumbnail images of each waypoint are only common when the waypoint was captured with the geoDVR.
Video Waypoints #
In LineVision Desktop, waypoints are displayed as purple markers on the map. If you hover above a waypoint thumbnail in the Waypoint Browser, the associated marker on the map will be highlighted in orange. If you click on the waypoint thumbnail, the video will jump to the waypoint’s location.

Audio Waypoints #
NOTE: The Waypoint Audio feature is only available with data from geoDVRs that have been configured to record separate audio files or a geoDSR geospatial audio recorder.
If you hover over the Waypoint, the GPS data will appear as well as the Feature Trigger Number that dropped the Waypoint and the name of the corresponding audio file.
Clicking on the Waypoint will first bring up Sound Clip Detected for playing the audio clip and allow you to play the Waypoint’s sound clip at that point in time. Click the Play Sound Clip button to listen to the audio, and it will also show the captured image in the Audio Player.
NOTE: If you wish always to have the audio clip play when the waypoint is clicked, check the box for Always Play Audio Clips if you do not want to show this message again.
