Overview #
Right-clicking on an item in the Media Browser will open one of several different menus depending on the media type. Additionally, the menu items presented on the following menus may further vary by the metadata associated with the media type. For example, a video that already has metadata for calculating “Camera Target Footprint” will not show the “Estimate Camera Target Footprint (CTF) on Map” menu item.
Below are the menus that are presented when right-clicking a video, a photo, a waypoint, and an annotation, respectively.
NOTE: There will be overlap of many menu items in the different menus.

Zoom to #
Selecting this item will show the Map Viewer location that corresponds to that specific video, photo, audio file or annotation.
Remove Item #
This will remove the item you have right-clicked on from LineVision Desktop.
Fit All Media in Map #
Selecting this item will show the Map Viewer location extent that includes all the media items currently loaded in the Media Browser.
Open Media File Folder #
Opens the folder on your computer where the media is saved.
Save as MISB FMV / STANAG 4609 Spec Video File #
NOTE: This feature is only available in LineVision Desktop Ultimate edition.
This is an optional step that will create new MISB FMV/STANAG 4609-spec .TS file. This can be helpful for users who plan to use georeferenced video outside of the Remote GeoSystems’ software suite in 3rd-party mapping platforms such as Esri’s ArcGIS and Booz Allen’s Gv/TAK specialized military mission planning software.
To use this option, right-click on the video item in the Media Browser panel and select Save as MISB FMV / STANAG 4609 Spec Video File. This will directly output a MISB FMV/STANAG 4609-spec .TS video file with the metadata embedded.
Export Track/Waypoints

Save Track as GPX File #
Export and save the GPS track as a .GPX file.
Save Track as CSV File #
Export and save the GPS track as a .CSV file.
Save Track as KML File #
Export and save the GPS track as a .KML file.
Save Track as Esri Video Multiplexer CSV #
Export the GPS track as a .CSV file that can be used in the Esri ArcGIS Pro’s video multiplexer tool (Image Analyst Add-in required.)
Export Waypoints as GPX File #
NOTE: This option only appears if there are waypoints in the file.
This option creates a .GPX file from the Waypoints associated with a video or audio file. After you have selected Extract Waypoints as GPX File, a File Explorer window opens asking where you would like to save the GPX File.
Save Track as Asset Management CSV File #
Exports the track as a CSV file for Asset Management.
Export Overlaid Video
#
Export New MP4 Video File with Lat/Long Overlay (Slower) #
This will export an MP4 video file with continuous GPS data watermarked on the bottom of the video.
Export New MP4 Video File with Custom Text Overlay (Slower) #
This will export an MP4 video file with custom text that was input using the Text button on the Video Viewer. This text will be watermarked on the bottom of the video along with continuous GPS data.
Export Video with Text & GPS in Closed Captioning (Faster) #
This will export a video with custom text that was input using the Text button on the Video and continuous GPS data embedded into the Closed Captioning.
Export Closed Caption Files #
Export Lat/Long Data as SRT File #
This will export the latitude and longitude data to an SRT file.
Export Text Overlay Data as SRT File #
This will export embedded text overlay data to an SRT file.
Upload to LineVision Online #
This will allow the user to upload the media browser file to their LineVision Online account using their credentials.
Metadata Options #
Add/Edit Keywords #
This feature will allow adding and editing of keywords for the media item.
View/Edit Properties #
This will display detailed information about the item including: Start Latitude/Longitude/Altitude/Time, number of GPS Points, GPS frequency, Waypoints and other data as well as editing the name and notes of the media item.
Edit Media Description (optional) #
This option will appear in the Media Browser menu if “Show Detail” is clicked. It allows you to edit the description shown to the right of a media thumbnail.
Copy Info #
This will copy to windows clipboard the details about the item including: Start Latitude/Longitude/Altitude/Time, number of GPS Points, GPS frequency, Waypoints and other data.
Set Drill Down Waypoint Description Template #
This will allow you to load a Drill Down Waypoint Menu template that you have already created from the Advanced Menu > Launch Waypoint Description Drill Down Menu Builder.
Camera Target Footprint Options #
NOTE: The screenshots below apply to a video that was taken with a gimbal camera that collects the appropriate metadata to show the camera target footprint on the map. For video captured with other types of cameras, there is a menu item to estimate the camera target footprint. Keep in mind that this is an estimation only. Estimate Camera Target Footprint (CTF) on Map #
Input the camera specifications in the Camera Projection Settings box pictured above. You may have these exact numbers if you captured the video yourself.

Hide Camera Target Location #
When this option is checked, the software will hide the camera’s frame center location which is represented by a dynamic line from the platform to the target location on the map.
Show/Hide Camera Target Location Track #
When this option is checked, referring to the image below, the camera’s frame center location will be represented by a GPS track on the map in addition to the camera platform GPS track.
Hide Camera Footprint #
When this option is checked, the software will hide from the map the camera’s field-of-view which is represented by a dynamic “4-corner” shape on the map.
Dynamically Calculate Camera Footprint #
When this option is checked, the software will use several raw camera metadata values to calculate and present the four corners of the camera target footprint box on the map. This is an alternative method to using the specific latitude/longitude values provided by some gimbals for the four corners of the camera target footprint box on the map. NOTE: This is only relevant to video and metadata collected from certain models of airborne gyro-stabilized gimbal cameras.
Show Augmented Reality #
If the bounding area for the video overlay is known, show it by default.
Map Options #
Show All Items in Map #
This option zooms the map to show all items that are currently loaded in the Media Browser.
Do Not Show on Map #
Prevents the item from displaying associated information on the Map.
Jump to Time #
Selecting this item will launch a window that allows you to enter a known time in a georeferenced video in order to skip ahead or back to that moment in the video.
PRO TIP: The Jump to Time function can be used to find a section of the video that corresponds to some other data type that needs further visual investigation, such as a parts per million (PPM) data file from a gas leak detection system.
Reverse Latitude/Longitude Order #
This will reverse the measurements of latitude and longitude.
Remove Geotagging (GPS Log) From Media #
This removes the geotagging data from the selected media.
Extract Geotagged Still Images From Video #
This is a tool for extracting image snapshots from a video.
Browse Waypoints (Video and Audio Files) #
NOTE: This option only appears if there are waypoints in the file.
The Browse Waypoints function is an alternate way to access all the waypoints associated with the video. See section on the Waypoint Browser for more information.
Right click on a waypoint in the Waypoint Browser to access the waypoint menu.
View Properties #
Shows metadata about the waypoint, including latitude and longitude, description, and associated media names.
Edit Waypoint Photo/Rename Waypoint Photo #
This option opens the Waypoint Viewer for editing. Rename the image using the button in the bottom left.
Edit Waypoint Description #
This option opens the Edit Waypoint Description Box for editing the waypoint description. This description can be viewed by clicking on a waypoint on the map or clicking the Show Detail option in the bottom of the screen.
Report Generation Options #
Generate Spreadsheet Report (This Waypoint Only) #
Select this menu item to generate a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet report for the selected single waypoint.
Generate Spreadsheet Report (All Waypoints) #
Select this menu item to generate a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet report for all waypoints in the waypoint browser.
View/Edit Location Screenshot for Reports #
This menu item takes a screenshot of the selected waypoint and opens it for editing in the advanced image editor.
Regenerate Location Screenshot for Reports #
This menu item takes a new screenshot of the selected waypoint and opens it for editing in the advanced image editor.
Edit Photo #
Opens the photo editor.
Rename Photo #
Allows you to change the name of the photo, both in LineVision and on your computer.
