Overview #
The Map Viewer allows you to see your GPS tracks, waypoints, and data on the map. You can also add additional annotations and labels, create reports, and edit the GPS track.

GPS Tracks #
The GPS track consists of a series of individual GPS points connected by a purple line. Each GPS point contains information such as Latitude, Longitude, Altitude, UTC Time, Timecode, Speed, Number Of Satellites, Platform Pitch, Platform Roll, Platform Heading, Sensor Pitch, Sensor Roll, Sensor Azimuth, Frame Center Latitude, Frame Center Longitude, Frame Center Altitude, Horizontal Field Of View (estimated). The information may vary depending on the source of the GPS data.
PRO TIP: A GPS track can be loaded, viewed, and edited in LineVision Desktop without an accompanying video file. This can be done from File > Load GPS Track/Waypoints without Video.

Metadata #
When a user hovers their mouse over a the GPS track, the metadata at the mouse location is displayed. 
GPS Track Menu #
Right clicking on the GPS track will open the following menu:
Add Label #
This feature will allow you to add a text label to a GPS point. An orange dot with the new label will appear at the selected location on the map.
Update Label #
Right-clicking on a GPS point with a text label opens the following menu and allows you to change the label text.
Copy Info #
Clicking on Copy Info will copy the information about the selected GPS point to the Windows Clipboard. It can then be pasted into your preferred location.
Add Waypoint Here #
Selecting this feature will open the Waypoint Editor window where a variety of information can be added, such as name, description, unique ID, notes, attaching images or documents, and finding photos within a selected search radius. It also includes geoDVR Asset Information and geoDVR Alerts features that can be imported back into a Remote Geosystems geoDVR for follow up missions.
NOTE: For the following editing options (Begin Edit, End Edit, Cancel Edit, Trim from Start, Trim to End, and Split), AVI file types are not supported.
Begin Edit #
Clicking this menu item will select the start point for trimming the GPS track and will also open the GeoEditor window for editing the GPS track.
End Edit #
Clicking End Edit will select the end point for trimming the GPS track. This option is only visible when the track is currently being edited.
Cancel Edit #
This will cancel the Begin Edit and End Edit selections. This option is only visible when the track is currently being edited.
Trim from Start #
Clicking this menu item will open the file explorer to choose the location to save the new trimmed video and create a new video file trimmed from the beginning to the selected GPS point.
Trim to End #
Clicking this menu item will open the file explorer to choose the location to save the new trimmed video and create a new video file trimmed from the selected GPS point to the end.
Split #
Clicking this menu item will open the file explorer to choose the location to save the new split videos and create 2 new video files.
Create Dispatch Report #
Selecting this will open the Dispatch Report window, which will have fields for Title, Author, Severity, Comments. and a photo still of the GPS point location. Clicking Generate Report at the bottom of this window will open Microsoft Word and include all of the information entered in addition the GPS coordinates and altitude in a report format.
Mission Builder #
In order to see the Mission Builder button, first enable it by clicking Mission Builder > Turn on Mission Builder from the menu bar at the top of LineVision. Once Mission Builder is enabled, right click on the track to open a submenu with the options to Add Point to Mission or Add Entire Track to Mission.
Map Menu #
Right clicking a location on the map, not the GPS track, will open the following menu:
Add Annotation/Asset Marker #
This will open a window to add an annotation to the map, including information like the annotation’s name, description, notes, images, and documents. Annotations will appear as purple triangles on the map.

View Coordinates #
This will open a window with the GPS data at the selected location and will include Latitude, Longitude, Altitude, UTC Time, and Timecode data.
Copy Coordinates #
Clicking on Copy Coordinates will copy the information about the selected location to the Windows Clipboard. It can then be pasted into your preferred location.
Geotag Photo Here #
This will open the file explorer to select a photo to be geotagged at the selected location.
NOTE: When the software is first opened, right clicking on the map will bring up an additional item in the menu called “Building Search Indexes”. This item is not clickable and just indicates that the software is creating the folder structure where you are able to find geotagged photos in a certain area. This occurs each time the software is opened and the “Building Search Indexes” text will disappear after a few minutes. The indexes are the folders containing the photos that you have set in the menu. To learn more about setting search indexes, click here.
Find Photos Near Here #
Clicking this item will search for photos within a specific radius of the selected location, as shown below. The default radius is 1000 feet. The search radius can be updated under Advanced > Search Settings > Set Search Radius.
Take Screenshot #
This will take a screenshot of the Map Viewer at the video’s current play position.
