Front Panel #
Standard Front Panel
USB 1 & USB 2
The front USB ports are typically used for non-critical accessories such as mouse or keyboard or the remote Start/Stop & Waypoint switch.
IMPORTANT: For critical camera connections and accessories use an appropriate USB port on the Back Panel.
Power Button
Circular button, push to power on the geoDVR after shutdown. There will be blue LED light will indicate when the power is on.
IMPORTANT: Under normal circumstances, DO NOT use this button to shut down the geoDVR. For normal geoDVR shutdown, go to the File menu > Completely Shut Down geoDVR.
SSD Drive & Bay
The removable SSD drive is where all the video, GPS and photos (when applicable) are recorded during data collection and the primary method for removing large volumes of data from the geoDVR. You can view a video on how to safely remove and replace the SSD here: https://youtu.be/fH9_ePy9sSc

Power Inputs
geoDVR Gen4s can be equipped with either a single power input or optional dual power inputs.
Most single power input configurations will feature a consumer-style “barrel” jack/connector.
Most dual power input configurations will feature a “circular 2 pin mil-spec” connector as well an alternative consumer-style “barrel” jack/connector.
Specifications on each power input type is provided below.
IMPORTANT: More information on power requirements, sources and connections can be found in the Power Requirements and Connecting Power sections in this manual.
ALT POWER or POWER (Barrel Jack/Connector)
The barrel jack/connector will feature a 5.5 mm x 2.5 mm female input on the rear panel of the geoDVR Gen4. This can be used with the included wall power supply “brick” or a qualified technician can wire a connection meeting geoDVR Gen4 power requirements for vehicle power using the included 5.5mm x 2.5mm male plug jack to open end bare wire cable. This power input connection will be labeled “POWER” on single power input configurations and ALT POWER on dual power inputs.
MAIN POWER (Circular MIL Spec Connector)
The circular 2 pin mil-spec connector currently features an Amphenol brand Circular MIL Spec Connector with 2P #12 PIN CONTACTS (manufacturer part number MS3100A16-11P) on the rear panel of the geoDVR Gen4.
A qualified aircraft technician can wire a connection meeting geoDVR Gen4 power requirements to be connected to aircraft power using the included Circular MIL Spec Connector 2P #12 SKT CONTACTS (manufacturer part number MS3106E16-11S).
WARNING: Make sure that the positive (+12V) wire is connected to the top A pin of the Amphenol connecter by the guide slot.
This power input connection will usually be labeled MAIN POWER on both single power input configurations and on dual power inputs.
GPS Antenna Connection
Attach the included GPS antenna here if not using a 3rd party GPS source. There is an internal GPS receiver. Standard GPS receiver operates at 1HZ. If using a 3rd party GPS source such as a gimbal camera or precision GPS receiver, please see specific documentation for your system integration and/or contact Remote GeoSystems Support.
NOTE: When using the geoDVR with newer gyro-stabilized gimbal cameras, the geoDVR will usually ingest the GPS location and additional camera metadata via the Ethernet port. Please contact Remote GeoSystems and/or the camera manufacturer for details on your specific camera installation.

There are 4 BNC video inputs on the video card positioned vertically on the right side of the rear panel.
NOTE: Even though there are 4 video inputs, your geoDVR may be configured with less than 4 video channels.

IMPORTANT: It is recommended to use USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports for high-bandwidth connections such as an Ethernet to USB device used for camera data transfer. Additionally, it is recommended to only use the geoDVR USB ports for devices required for the mission requirements. It is not recommended to use the geoDVR for charging and/or interfacing with non-critical devices such as phones, tablets and other accessories.
