Camera Target Footprint Module

Screenshot of the geoDVR interface with the Camera Target Footprint (CTF) module metadata displayed in the Live Moving Maps module

The optional geoDVR Camera Target Footprint (aka CTF) module works with a camera metadata feed from compatible gyro-stabilized gimbal video cameras to enhance the in-flight functionality of the Live Moving Maps interface by showing the where the gimbal camera is pointing on the ground in addition the aircraft platform location.  This capability is displayed in the Live Moving Maps’ Map Viewer panel as a real-time, dynamically-moving “4-corner polygon” with the camera target frame center and field-of-view footprint represented on the map.

Additionally, videos recorded with a geoDVRs configured with the Camera Target Footprint module will also show the same platform (aircraft) and camera orientation described above when played back, post-flight in LineVision software, as well remotely in real-time when the geoDVR is also equipped with the Live Video & GPS Streaming module.

NOTE:  The Camera Target Footprint module offers an identical in-flight and post-flight user experience as the optional MISB FMV Metadata module for gimbal cameras that do not provide a MISB FMV / STANAG 4609 spec metadata video stream.  Examples include gimbal camera manufacturers using the Remote GeoSystems CTF Protocol (such as Ofil Systems) or other supported proprietary camera data protocol (such as GSS).

Prerequisites:

  • geoDVR Module – Live Moving Maps w/ Offline Tile Server
  • Compatible Gimbal Camera w/ protocol implemented for the geoDVR

CTF Menu

> Show Target Location

Checking this option will display the camera target frame center on the map.

> Show Camera Footprint

Checking this option will display the camera field-of-view footprint on the map.

> CTF Video Channel

Select this option to choose which video channel’s data will be used to calculate the Camera Target Footprint presentation data.

NOTE:  This capability may vary by gimbal camera manufacturer and/or current level of system integration.
