The geoDVR Advanced Image Geotagging module is applicable when used with gimbal cameras capable of providing enough metadata for the geoDVR to calculate/display the “Camera Target Footprint” (CTF), or, in other words, where the camera is actually looking on a map. With this additional metadata available, users can choose which GPS coordinates get applied to the EXIF data of high resolution DLSR camera photos (when applicable) and/or still images captured from video feeds when the geoDVR waypoint button is pressed. These 4 different GPS coordinate options are described in the images below.
You can change the location of the geotag in your images by going to Options > Image Geotagging > Geotagging Location.
Geotag at Target Location (Frame Center) #
This is the default geotagging location. It geotags at the center of the image.
Geotag at Target Bottom (Frame Bottom Center) #
This setting places the geotag at the bottom of each image. It would be particularly useful in situations such as flying powerlines and tagging an image of a pylon at its base, for example.
Geotag at Target Top (Frame Top Center) #
This setting places the geotag at the top of each image. It would be useful in situations where photos are taken from the ground and the user wants to tag the photo to the top of a pylon, for example.
Geotag at Platform Location #
This setting places the geotag at the location of the aircraft, car, drone, etc. Platform location is represented by the yellow cursor that moves along the GPS track. In the image below, the CTF is also visible, and is represented by the purple polygon.
