The Moving Maps menu will be visible on the Main Menu bar if your geoDVR is equipped with the optional Live Moving Maps module. Enable Live Moving Maps (Requires Restart) #
This menu item is checked by default if your geoDVR is configured with Live Moving Maps. Unchecking this option will disable Live Moving Maps and removes related from the Map Window and Map Layer Control panels.
NOTE: If needing to use this function to save monitor screen real estate, it is recommended you also close the two Live Moving Maps panels, and then go to the File menu > Save Current Layout in order save these changes to one of your layout profiles.
Enable Camera Control #
This menu item is available if your geoDVR is configured with the optional Gimbal Geo-pointing module. Additionally to function properly, the geoDVR must be paired with a compatible and properly configured gyro-stabilized gimbal camera. Set Map Update Rate #
This menu item allows users to set the frequency at which the Live Moving Map recenters to the current geoDVR platform location. This can be set anywhere between 1 to 10 seconds. The default setting is 4.3 seconds.
Auto Center Map Settings #
Auto Center Map as Current Positions Leaves View #
This menu item is checked by default and will recenter the Live Moving Map when the geoDVR platform location indicator moves within 20% of an edge of the Map Viewer panel.
Always Center Map to Current Position #
If this menu item is checked, the Live Moving Map will recenter to the current geoDVR platform location with every map update at the rate set and saved in the Set Map Update Rate menu item above.
IMPORTANT: This does put a fairly large load on the CPU/GPU so please do adequate field testing under your specific data collection conditions as it could cause performance issues with the geoDVR system.
PRO TIP: If using multiple layout profiles on the geoDVR, you may want to make this change to other layout profiles if you want this setting to be maintained between layout changes.
Do not Recenter Map #
If this menu item is checked, the Live Moving Map will NOT recenter to the current position when the geoDVR platform location indicator icon moves outside the current Map Viewer extent.
Display Info Popup on Point Click #
This menu item is checked by default and will open a popup window in the Map Viewer with additional information about a point when a user clicks on a properly-formatted KML file that is loaded and enabled in Map Layer Control panel. Unchecking this option will disable this capability.
Auto Rotate Map North #
This menu item is checked by default and keeps the Live Moving Map positioned with the North direction at the top of the Map Viewer panel no matter the direction of the geoDVR platform travel. Unchecking this option will allow the Live Moving Map to reposition with the actual direction of geoDVR platform travel at the top of the Map Viewer panel.
Auto Tilt Map #
This menu item is checked by default and positions the Live Moving Map in the Map Viewer at approximately a 60 degree oblique angle. It also a requires a GPS connection and a reliable signal to position correctly, otherwise it will remain in a 2D view. Unchecking this option will position Live Moving Maps in the Map Viewer in a 2D view.
Enable Map GPU Acceleration #
This menu item is checked by default and enables the Live Moving Map to run on both the GPU and CPU.
IMPORTANT: It is recommended you do NOT change uncheck this option without good reason and adequate field testing under your specific data collection conditions as it could cause performance issues with the geoDVR system.
